OUR COMPANY

Williston Financial Group, LLC was formed in late 2009 to acquire various businesses in the title insurance and real estate settlement services industry.  Since then, Williston has acquired WFG Lender Services (formerly known as New Millennium Title Group, LLC), a provider of title, closing and settlement services for mortgage lenders nationwide (January 2010); WFG National Title Insurance (formerly known as TransUnion National Title Insurance Company), a title insurance underwriter incorporated in 1974 and currently licensed in 38 states and DC (February 2010); WFG Title Insurance Company (formerly known as TransUnion Title Insurance Company), a California title insurance underwriter incorporated in 1925 (March 2010); and WFG National Title Company of Washington (formerly Northpoint Escrow and Title LLC), an established title, escrow and settlement services company in Washington (July 2011).

The Williston Financial Group executive team members have in excess of 180 total years of experience and success in the settlement services industry.  Williston and its executives understand the title insurance business and the critical role that its clients play in the success of the industry.

Executive Bios

Patrick F. Stone

President & CEO, Williston Financial Group

Pat has enjoyed a lengthy career in real estate and real estate related services, including “C” officer positions with three public companies and as a director on two Fortune 500 Boards. The senior executive management positions included nine years as President and COO of the nation’s largest title insurance company, Chairman and Co-CEO of a software company and CEO of a real estate data and information company.

Pat also served as Vice-Chairman of Metrocities Mortgage, a 2005 top twenty mortgage lender, and as Chairman of The Stone Group, an Austin, Texas based tenant-rep brokerage company. Additionally, Pat served on the Boards of World Minerals, DigitalMap, Homegain, RedVision, Wystein Capital, and Inman News, who named him one of 2013’s “100 Most Influential People in Real Estate.”

Pat’s Philanthropic involvement has included service as Chairman of the Santa Barbara Art Museum and as a Director of the Portland Art Museum. He is a past chairman of the Oregon State University Foundation, and Co-Chair of its Billion Dollar Capital Campaign. Patrick resides in Portland, Oregon with wife Vicki, and youngest daughter, Samantha.


Michael T. Gallaher

Chief Financial Officer, Williston Financial Group

Mike Gallaher has more than 10 years of experience in the title insurance industry, having served prior to WFG in a range of financial management positions within Fidelity National Financial, and most recently with United General Title Insurance Company and the First American Corporation. Prior to Fidelity, Mike was with KPMG as an Audit Manager in the company’s financial services sector.

Mike is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona; and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants.


Joseph V. McCabe Jr.

Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Williston Financial Group

Joe McCabe began his career in the title insurance industry more than twenty years ago with Fidelity National Title Insurance Company. While at Fidelity, Joe gained experience in a number of areas including claims and litigation management, mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate and regulatory compliance. Since leaving Fidelity in 1996, Joe has held the positions of General Counsel and President of other title insurance underwriters, most recently TransUnion National Title Insurance Company.

Joe is a graduate of University of the Pacific’s, Mc George School of Law in Sacramento CA. He is currently an Executive Officer on the California Land Title Association’s Board of Governors.


Steven H. Winkler

Chief Underwriting Counsel & Secretary, Williston Financial Group

With over 35 years in the title insurance business, Steve Winkler was most recently the Corporate Underwriting Counsel for United General Title Insurance Company. He has previously held a variety of legal and management positions with national underwriters, including Fidelity National Title of New York and Lawyers’ Title Insurance Corporation.

Steve is a graduate of Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. (B.A.) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D.).  He is currently a member of the American Bar Association, and the Connecticut Bar Association, where Steve serves as an Emeritus Member, Executive Committee of the Real Property Section, and as a Member of the Committee on Unauthorized Practice of Law. In addition to various county Bar Associations, Steve is also a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association, the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate. In 1992, Steve was elected a Fellow of the College of Real Estate Lawyers and, in 1998, a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.


Donald O’Neill

Executive Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer

Donald O’Neill has over thirty years of mortgage and real estate industry experience. He oversees the entirety of WFG’s compliance program, including employee and title agent training; licensing; audit and the creation and implementation of programs designed to update and track adherence to the company’s policies and procedures. He is also a member of WFG’s Executive Management Committee. Prior to joining WFG, O’Neill served as Chief Operating Officer and Associate General Counsel for Altisource’s Premium Title, President of Origination Practice Group and Chief Risk Officer for ISGN Solutions. Before that, O’Neill was Group President and CEO for Stewart Title Company – one of the industry’s largest title insurance underwriters, where he oversaw the operational performance and financial results of that company’s Real Estate Information (REI) Group. O’Neill is licensed to practice law in Utah and Washington State and is a member of the United State Supreme Court Bar – Washington D.C. He received his Juris Doctorate and MBA from Gonzaga University.


Joe Drum

Executive Vice President, Agency Division

Joe Drum has over 35 years experience in the title insurance industry. He was President of United General Title Insurance Company and EVP at First American Title Insurance Company and Fidelity National Title Insurance Company where Joe was in charge of all agency operations and strategic initiatives for several brands.

In 1971, Joe received his undergraduate degree from Hiram Scott College/University in Nebraska, where he was appointed by President Nixon to serve on the United States Justice Department’s Advisory Committee on the Student Riots of Kent State. Joe received his Juris Doctorates from University of Bridgeport and The Quinnipiac College of Law, New Haven, CT and successfully completed the executive post-graduate program at M.I.T.’s Center for Real Estate Studies.

Joe currently resides in Santa Barbara, California, where he is one of California’s twenty-eight Fellows of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (“ACMA”), a national honorary organization that recognizes outstanding lawyers who specialize in the field of real estate mortgage lending and related activities.
